About GBEA

The Green Bay Education Association (GBEA) is a professional organization of educators and paraprofessionals working in the Green Bay Area Public School District. The GBEA represents the public policy, laborand professional interests of its members. The GBEA is a strong advocate for the nearly 20,000 children in the Green Bay Area Public Schools. The GBEA is also an affiliate of the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC), which represents Wisconsin educators. Through WEAC, our members are also affiliated with the National Education Association (NEA) which has approximately 3 million members. Both organizations provide members with legislative support, leadership opportunities, and legal resources.

The GBEA Structure

The GBEA follows a constitution and set of bylaws. An executive board, meeting twice a month, is our governing body. It is made up of the president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer and eight members elected at large. Officers serve three year terms. Our legislative and policy-making body is a representative assembly (RA). The RA meets monthly. Each building elects one representative for every 10 members.
